Inspiration strikes

Gábor's family dog, Borzas (Shaggy) has gotten lost. That was the terrible event that inspired the baseline concept. Despite all his efforts and attempts, his poor doggo never found her way back home, and he began to think why there isn't a 21st-century technology solution that might assist in such situations. After hearing about what happened to his dog, we began brainstorming ways to assist dog parents in the event that their furry friend goes missing.

2021

Project principles

We quickly realized that, aside from the missing dog instance, parents face a variety of "daily" challenges for which there is no single digital solution. As a conclusion, we decided to create a community platform for dog lovers where anything could be handled quickly and easily in one place.

Prototype ready

We discovered a lot about our target audience using the skills we learned while developing software, such as via user surveys and market research. Every dog owner we encountered was a source of information, and we gleaned as much useful information as we could from them. In the end, we were able to put together the first functional prototype of our application using the data we had collected and verified.

Riskiest assumption test

We surveyed groups of dog parents, designers, and programmers to see how they felt about using the prototype app. From the start, we knew that launching all of the features and products we had envisioned would be an unrealistic challenge. By doing this study, we were able to better understand the products and features that our target audience may find most useful, as well as the resources (both human and financial) required to define even the most essential features.

2022

Live beta test

Based on our findings, we've released a public beta of the app that includes enhancements made during prototype testing. Our major objective was to understand how the community of real life dog lovers utilizes the app. We were also interested in discovering how many people we could reach organically without investing in paid advertising in order to get insight into the demands of a modern dog owner.

2023

Minimum viable product

It took us a little less than a year to locate and fix all major bugs during the live beta test, and we are now ready to make the updated version of the app available to the general public.
